The second day we were on the road by 8:15 and felt like we were up to another long day on the road. The truck and trailer were handling well and weren’t bothered by the cold or the up and down on the mountains. We have been enjoying the gift cards the family got us for Christmas. We stopped at McDonalds, Wendy’s, Walmart for some trailer supplies and even The Cracker Barrel for dinner in Lake City, Georgia. Lake City is just north of Valdosta. It was another nice night, and slightly warmer.
We had about one hundred eighty eight miles to go and were looking forward to getting to Lake Louisa State Park which is about 20 miles from our destination, Disneyworld. After A brief stop at Walmart’s for bread and libation we set up our camper for the first time since Halloween. It felt good to get organized and empty the truck which carried a lot of those last minute items like computers, the coffee pot, maps, reading material, and other goodies. We even brought a tin filled with butter cookies left over from the holidays to enjoy with our coffee in the mornings.....we did have some along the way! We’re bad.
We only have one night here and will move to Fort Wilderness in the morning. We plan to go early, check in is at 3:00 p.m. but if we are there early sometime you get in early. We can leave the trailer in the lot and they will call us if and when the site opens up if we have to wait. Meanwhile we will try to hook up with the family.
