Two whole Days....Nothing

👎 so frustrated,  we are leaving Mathis Texas tomorrow for another Texas State Park called Lost Maples State National Area. No wifi there but we will be there two days. then we will check out the Hill Country. I'm going to continue taking pictures and if I figure it out, I'll post them. If not I'm not sure I'll waste your time.    sorry all

A Hot Spot

Time Flies Like An Arrow......

Well, finally going to hit the keyboard using  the communication highway. We are still in a RV Resort, Wilderness Lake Resort in Mathis Texas about 45 Minutes north of Corpus Christi.😎. Sadly there is no internet hook up so I am beginning with my trusty Hotspot (Thank you Jeff and Suzanne).

We left mid morning on Monday, February 23, rushing out to get ahead of the cold, blistery Michigan weather. Worked out pretty well and made it farther than we thought we would. We stayed at the Super 8 in Elizabethtown, Kentucky.  It was a decent enough place and the pups were welcome.

Tuesday, February 24th was a little more challenging because it took longer going around Memphis, Tennessee than we expected and had a devil of a time finding a place to stop. The roads were still good but we didn't know where we really were and we whizzed by every exit before I could see what was there. I tried to use the call centers to see what was coming up but they were not where we were, (I think they were in India) and kept asking me "where are you?" I just wanted to speak to someone at the front desk and boom, "Welcome to Wyndham Rewards  and being a rewards returning guest" recording would come on. By now it was getting dark, I was tired, frustrated and Bill kept driving. 

We had to stop for gasoline so we pulled off and into a truck stop  and three motels were there, one not open, one that wouldn't take pets, so we went to Dreamland Inn (the name of the place). We just wanted the trailer to be safe, and that we would wake up in the morning. Pretty Sketchy area...and a Fifty dollar non refundable fee for the two pups. What a racket!!!! It was in Senatobia, Mississippi.

Things  looking up on Wednesday. The roads were still good and each day the weather was changing along with the time. The temperature was rising but it was still a bit grey out. We had been keeping track of what was going on back home and deep saddened for you to be all bundled up, but inside we were glad we headed out. 

Wednesday, we got up and had our sights set for Ameristar Casino in Vicksburg Mississippi. We decided to stay thru the weekend to catch our breath and let  Bill get a break from driving. He did a few jobs on the Truck, sanitized the water holding tanks, reorganized his storage areas and just puttered. We did stop by the casino and checked out the buffet. Friday came, and we decided to try out the local restaurant the lady at the desk recommended. It was delightful. Rusty's Riverfront Grill, best fish around and it was great. Lots of fish entrees. We ordered Crab cakes, Shrimp, cooked oysters, asparagus with a bite, and their corn bread that was sooo very very tasty.

This was the area that I actually took some photos but I am not having luck adding them. I'm going to take a pause here to see what the deal is.

Hope you are all well and survived the nasty weather they are still talking about down here.

Last time I looked Natalie and Hannah had come for a visit to one of MY favorite spots, San Antonio, Texas.
