Our next Stop, Palmetto State Park in Gonzales, Texas

We hit the road early in the morning because our next destination was a bit away,  the weather was bad and we had lots of rain. We arrived in the late afternoon. The camp host was a fellow named Jimmy and he had been there as the volunteer host since October. He followed us to our site and after we backed in, we set up.   The sun was shining now and we were expecting nice weather for a few days. Unfortunately the campground was going to be full in two days so we were not going to be hanging out there very long.

There was hiking, nice roads to bicycle on and things to do in town. That evening Bill took me to dinner at a local restaurant  known for their great burgers and onion rings. Oh my gosh, dinner was so delicious Thank you,  Bill.

Tada

As we drove to the restaurant we encountered a group of Feral Pigs running across the road.

More little piggies. So cute but are very destructive to property and crops.

This is a wildlife viewing area from the road. That is the San Marcos River meandering through the area.

Buc-ee's is a chain of gas stations in southern Texas that is a convenience store, gift shop, counter food, deli, and whatever.
Meet Buc-ee!
